Exclusive Interview

Hallyu World: Hello guys, it’s an honor for us to share this space with you.

What does the name «PSYCHIC FEVER» mean to you and how does it reflect your approach as artists?

KOKORO: The name PSYCHIC FEVER comes from the idea that the unique roots and individuality of each of the seven members create a powerful synergy through dance, vocals, rap, and beatboxing—resulting in an electrifying chemistry that excites audiences. I believe the word chemistry further amplifies our uniqueness and brings out our true essence.

Mundo Hallyu: Each of you has a unique story and style. How do you manage to combine those individualities to create such a captivating synergy in your performances?

RYOGA: All of us have been attending EXPG STUDIO since we were young. There, we not only trained in dance, vocals, and rap, but also spent time developing our own unique styles and strengths. I believe that experience is what shapes our performances today.

Also, having spent so many years together, our strong bond naturally reflects in our performances.

WEESA: Each of us has a strong personality, and I think that intensity translates into the power of our performances. That’s one of our biggest strengths. I’d love for you to come to our live shows and experience it for yourself!

Mundo Hallyu: What’s Happenin’» is a collaboration with JP THE WAVY, which has been a great success. How did the idea of working with him again come about, and what’s the difference between this single and “Just Like Dat”?

TSURUGI: We have a great personal connection with JP THE WAVY, and through that bond, we wanted to create something that fans could enjoy once again leading to this collaboration!

Unlike JLD, this track embodies the Y2K era of the Japanese scene. It’s packed with elements of Japanese fashion, culture, and nostalgia.

I hope you can enjoy the background of Japan’s scene and the nostalgic sound woven into the track!

Mundo Hallyu: How did you feel when you found out that “Just Like Dat” became a viral hit?

REN: At first, I didn’t really feel the impact. I thought things would be the same as always. But when I started reading comments from people all over the world, it hit me: so many people are actually listening to our music.

Realizing that our songs were being heard not just in Japan, but globally, was a defining moment for me. It made me determined to succeed and perform worldwide. That realization was truly special.

JIMMY: I had confidence in our work, but I never imagined it would go this viral. Thanks to our fans creating and sharing countless videos on social media, our music reached people who had never heard of us before. I’m incredibly grateful for that.

This opportunity to be recognized by so many people is something I won’t take for granted. I’ll continue to push forward and evolve!

RYUSHIN: Honestly, I didn’t feel it at first. Nothing changed drastically at the beginning, so it didn’t sink in. But as I started seeing our songs everywhere on social media, and more and more people dancing to them, I began to realize the impact.

It’s all thanks to our fans who spread our music, and I can’t express how grateful I am for that!

Mundo Hallyu: What are the challenges of bringing your music to a global audience?

REN: What I value the most is creating music that is easy to listen to.

When the song, lyrics, and melody all blend perfectly, it becomes something that anyone, regardless of their musical preferences, can enjoy. That’s why I want to continue delivering the best music possible for everyone.

RYUSHIN: For me, it’s all about emotion!

Of course, visuals are important, but I believe that pure emotions can transcend language barriers. That’s why, when we perform and create music, we make sure to pour our hearts into it so that our feelings can truly reach the audience.

Mundo Hallyu: You recently finished your tour in the United States. How was this stage of your career, and how did you prepare for it?

JIMMY: After finishing the US tour, I’ve learned so much stage presence, the importance of MCing, and the process of crafting a setlist. Working with John Fossitt during the production period also gave me invaluable insights.

I want to take all of that experience and embrace new challenges from fresh angles. There’s still some time left before we start preparing for our next tour, so I plan to immerse myself in movies and books, using that time to expand my creative ideas and inspirations!

KOKORO: Preparations for our next tour are still ahead of us, but after going through the US tour, we’re committed to delivering an even more powerful live entertainment experience. With new arrangements and chemistry, we’ll bring an upgraded performance. I’m excited to show how much we’ve evolved, and we’ll keep pushing ourselves to make it happen!

Mundo Hallyu: Do you have any rituals or habits before a performance?

RYUSHIN: Personally, I don’t have many pre-show rituals, but as a group, we always form a circle, say a chant, and do a group fist bump before going on stage! It’s something we’ve always done, and I believe we’ll keep this tradition for life!

WEESA: Before every live performance, we always form a circle together.

Mundo Hallyu: What future projects can you share with your fans? Can we expect new releases, collaborations, or surprises?

RYOGA: Starting in June, we’ll be kicking off our tour in Japan. However, after the Japan tour, we’re also working on planning tours and fan meetings in other countries. Additionally, we’re preparing new music, so we’re looking forward to making 2025 an even more exciting and active year!

REN: Absolutely! We’ve announced an upcoming tour, and along with that, we might be releasing new songs as well. I hope everyone looks forward to it! We want to perform in front of even more people around the world and make them love our music even more.

Mundo Hallyu: PSYCHIC FEVER has expanded its fanbase worldwide, and Latin America has shown great support. What does it mean to you to have such passionate followers in this region?

TSURUGI: I’m truly happy and feel so grateful! Seeing the PCF family grow makes me realize how bright the future can be. It also strengthened our goal: to perform live in Latin America!

RYOGA: I’m filled with happiness! Since the beginning of our group, we’ve been working towards becoming global artists, and knowing that so many people from different countries support us fills me with gratitude. There are still so many places we haven’t been to yet, so I can’t wait to meet everyone in person as soon as possible!

Mundo Hallyu: Can you tell us something about yourselves? For example, today’s TMI or what do you like to do in your free time, or anything you’d like to share with your audience.

TSURUGI: Whenever I have free time, I love checking out cowboy hats and boots at stores, lol. I’m a big fan of the drama «Yellowstone», and a lot of my inspiration for cowboy style comes from it!

RYOGA: If I have free time, I usually go to a sauna or onsen. I sweat a lot on stage, but I also make sure to sweat and refresh on my days off. This time is really important to me, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

REN: I love ramen! I actually keep a note on my phone where I write down the names of the ramen shops I visit, the menu items I order, the toppings, and my thoughts. If you ever come to Japan, feel free to ask me for recommendations!

JIMMY: For those who haven’t seen us live yet, I really encourage you to come to our show! We have live performances on YouTube, and we often perform at events, but I highly recommend experiencing our solo tour. Every detail is crafted to bring out our unique world!

KOKORO: When I’m not training or practicing vocals indoors, I’m mostly sleeping. Since our schedules can be unpredictable, I make sure to catch up on sleep whenever I can and use that energy for studying and daily activities.

RYUSHIN: I usually spend my free time watching YouTube, anime, or playing games! Also, I love snacks and juice, so whenever I have a moment, I’m always munching on something.

WEESA: I enjoy watching movies and anime in my free time. I also love drawing, and I’ve even been in charge of designing artwork for some of our merch!

Mundo Hallyu: Finally, what message would you like to send to your followers in Mexico and Latin America?

KOKORO: Thank you so much for watching and supporting us! We will continue to bring you joy through our music and live entertainment. We’re working hard to perform in front of you all, so please look forward to it!

WEESA: We would love to perform in Mexico one day, so please look forward to it! Until that day comes, I hope you enjoy listening to our music.

Mundo Hallyu: Thank you so much! We deeply appreciate the time you’ve given us for this interview. We wish you success in your career and hope to see you very soon in Mexico.

Special thanks to the PR agency for all the facilities they provided us for this interview.
